To be selected by James Halliday as one of Australia’s 25 Great Reds over $30 is quite an honour.
For a Hilltops winery to appear in this prestigious list for three consecutive years (as we have done) is quite an achievement.
But what we find humbling, is the fact that each year, a different Moppity wine has been selected! We are being recognised and singled out for quality and value across our portfolio; at different price points, with different varieties.
This year it was our 2016 Estate Shiraz that was chosen. This wine has already been awarded 4 Gold Medals and its looking set to rival it’s predecessor (the 2015 vintage) which claimed a total of 2 Trophies and 5 Gold Medals.
The Estate Shiraz wears Moppity’s style on its sleeve. It’s vibrant and aromatic, elegant and seamless, powerful yet refined. Enjoyable now but if you can wait, you’ll be rewarded for your patience… Cellar for 10yrs.
In 2017, it was our 2015 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon that appeared in Halliday’s 25 Great Reds over $30 (which quickly sold out – 2016 now available). And in 2016, the 2014 Reserve Shiraz (limited stock available) made it into Halliday’s 25 Great Reds over $30.
